Chicken masala in a jiffy! (1)

This is my mom’s signature dish. Very simple and can be done in matter of minutes yet tastes wonderful. Perfect sidedish for any meal and tastes delicious with chapatti too.

Here's how you make it.

Grind together 3 ts of shredded coconut, 2 red chillies, ½ ts of cumin seed, 1 medium sized onion, 1 medium sized tomato, 1 ts of sambar powder and make a masala paste out of it.

Add the masala paste in cooker. Add a cup of water. Add 100 gm of cubed chicken pieces. Add salt and pressure cook it for about 3 whistles for the chicken to get boiled.

Meanwhile temper oil with few mustard seed, urad dal, red chilli and curry leaf. After the air in the cooker is released, add the tempering to the gravy, combine it and let it simmer for a while until the gravy is reduced to the level of your consistency. Garnish with coriander and enjoy!
